Lily Coles

Hello, my name is Lily, I gained my Master’s in speech and language therapy in 2018 from Essex University. 

I now specialise in complex needs and my passion lies with working on foundational communication skills. I really enjoy working closely with families and the wider teams around the children I see, creating individualised and innovative approaches to therapy. I am fully Makaton trained and have an extensive knowledge of and experience with AAC. However, my work with complex clients goes beyond speech and language therapy and I am accredited in developmental play, infant mental health education and special needs massage, allowing me to support children on a more holistic basis from 6 weeks old. 

At Words First I am responsible for coordinating EHCP requests and supporting therapists with complex needs cases. Alongside my work at WF I am also a consultant paediatric neurology SaLT working on medico-legal cases.

In my spare time I like to do art and yoga and go wild swimming!  I think my best friend would describe me as “silly, creative and intuitive”.
