Hello, my name is Sicelo.

I graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa, with a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (Hons), in 2014. I completed my Community Service year at the Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, a rural part of South Africa. The following year, I worked at Ermelo Provincial Hospital, Mpumalanga. I then joined Mgwenya & Partners Inc. and worked as a Senior Speech Therapist.

I have gained experience in various cases in all age ranges, starting from new-borns to the elderly. Over the years, I have developed a special interest in Early Childhood Intervention for children with Feeding and Speech and Language difficulties. I strongly believe that the intervention must always be child-centred. I am committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, regardless of their backgrounds. I enjoy working with children and their families/caregivers with the aim of helping children reach their full potential in Speech and Language development.

I am always looking forward to a new environment and new challenges, where things are done differently to what I know and what I feel comfortable with. I am looking forward to joining Words First, a fast-growing company, driven by professionals with a clear vision of changing children’s lives for the better.

When I’m not working, I enjoy watching Football, Series and Movies. When I’m not indoors, I enjoy spending time with friends.

If you had to call one of my friends and ask him to describe me, I think he would describe me as reliable, private and a good listener.
