Hello, my name is Stephanie. I graduated from UCL with a MSc in Speech and Language Sciences in 2020 and from the University of Hong Kong with a BSc in Psychology. After I completed my BSc, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant in an international kindergarten supporting SEN students. I’ve had experience in a variety of settings, including special school and mainstream schools and in the acute setting. At Words First, I work within a range of settings, ranging from primary schools, secondary schools to SEMH schools. I have a keen interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder and complex needs. I enjoy using motivating sensory toys to help children develop their communication skills in a fun and engaging way. I find it particularly rewarding when I am able to empower families and children to communicate with each other through different forms of communication (e.g. signing, using objects/ symbols…etc) if spoken language is not accessible! I feel very lucky to be part of a very supportive team at Words First and I am always learning new tips and tricks from different therapists!
In my spare time, I enjoy strolling through parks, cooking and finding the best bakeries in London! If you had to call my best friend and ask her to describe me, I think she’d describe me as creative, fun and friendly!
