Tanika is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist and RESNA Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) who specializes in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). Tanika is awaiting her HCPC registration.
Alongside Carolyn (OT), Tanika is a consultant and adviser in Assistive Technology / Augmentative and Alternative Communication for Words First Ltd. Their company, Ace Innovations which is based in the US, provides assessments, supervision and coaching for Words First therapists working in schools in London. Additionally, ACE Innovations run regular training for staff working with children who require or use AAC devices.
She is a graduate of the renowned Pennsylvania State University Communication Sciences and Disorders program and is a full-scholarship recipient of the U.S. Department of Education Children’s Communicative Competence Project AAC Scholarship, which provided her with specialized training from distinguished professors such as Dr.Janice Light. She has extensive experience working with individuals with complex communication needs aged birth to geriatric with a specialization in the school-age population. Tanika has been working with such populations for over 8 years. Tanika’s professional goal is to provide her clients with communication access by providing innovative solutions that meet their individual needs and goals.
