Dyslexia Service – assessment and intervention
We are lucky enough to have two Speech and Language Therapists who are also Dyslexia Specialists on our team.
Mary Thompson heads up our dyslexia assessment service with Egypt Payne. Both are qualified Speech and Language Therapists who have chosen to study further in the field of dyslexia. As qualifed Dyslexia Assessors, Mary and Egypt offer our schools a comprehensive in-house diagnostic service for dyslexia. Their detailed case history / assessment battery and observation schedule will result in a full report with recommendations and suggestions for support in school.
Linda Clark is a qualified and experienced teacher and former SENCO who has joined Words First to provide intervention and tailored programmes for children with dyslexia. Linda is a highly qualified and experienced SENCO, literacy and dyslexia specialist, with over 20 years’ teaching experience in both the state and independent sectors, 15 years of which has been spent as a school SENCO.
Her work as a SENCO has involved assessing pupils, identifying those in need of additional support, developing and delivering interventions and closely monitoring progress across the age ranges. She is particularly interested in the early identification of spelling and comprehension difficulties and in the development of effective interventions.
If your school would like any more information about our additional services, please contact Amanda@wordsfirst.co.uk. These services can be bought in ad hoc or through an annual contract / service level agreement.
