Words First supports early-years settings to give all children the best possible start in life. Much of our work in EYFS is based on the 30-million word gap study and reflects our passion for preventing language, literacy and communication difficulties through assessment and identification, early training and intervention.

Your Words First therapist will administer assessments, write meaningful reports with useful recommendations, and offer advice on next steps for all identified children. We will always include parents and carers and our Coffee Mornings are usually a great success (yes, we also have a budget for chocolate cake at these events!).

Whether your budget allows for weekly visits or one-off training, Words First will work hand in hand with you to achieve your school’s goals. From raising awareness of SLCN to increasing confidence in how to support children with language and communication difficulties in school, your Words First therapist will guide you to achieve your goals

Our specially designed programmes promote speaking, listening and communication through whole-class and small-group activities and games delivered by teachers who are trained by our Speech and Language Therapists

Our small-group programmes aim to support those children with delayed speech, language and communication skills. Our Therapists will train your Teaching Assistants to deliver our carefully designed intervention programmes.

If your EYFS setting is interested in hearing more about how Words First can support, please contact Amanda@wordsfirst.co.uk for an information pack and/or a call to discuss your needs. Amanda will be able to put together a proposal and package that suits your needs and your budget.
