SALT

Hello my name is Pratiksha and people often find it more comfortable to call me Pretty.

I qualified as a Speech Language Therapist in 2010 from the University of KwaZulu Natal, Westville. My professional career has spanned more than 10 years and I have worked in a Special Educational Needs Setting in South Africa since qualifying.

I have been fortunate enough to work in schools in both rural areas in South Africa and in urban cities. This has allowed me to work, adjust and adapt to the different language and socio-economic backgrounds of the learners and their parents.

My special areas of interest include working with learners with Special Educational Needs, learners on the Autism Spectrum and learners with Developmental Language Delays.

I am passionate about supporting learners and their families in a manner that fits in with their routine, culture and that is functional in their homes to ensure effective carryover of speech and language therapy.

As a South African, I particularly enjoy being outdoors and exploring with my family. The mountains have to be my favourite place in the world! I enjoy exploring new places, foods and cultures wherever we may be. If my best friend had to describe me, she would say I am gentle, calm and kind with a quick sense of humour.
