SaLT

Hello, my name is Charne Daniels.

I attained my honours in Speech and Language Pathology at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2020. I have experience in running a department (managerial skills), conducting rural area community outreach programmes (annual toy drive for Christmas and providing early childhood intervention to underprivileged children). My expertise consist of assessment and management of all speech and language related disorders and disabilities for both the adult and paediatric population.

My area of interest is in the Paediatric population dealing with special needs, swallowing disorders, speech and language disorders assessment and intervention. I am passionate about providing Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) in families who cannot afford speech therapy. Going forward I would like to be a key part in the accessibility of speech therapy in all schools, providing a high standard of assessment and management services, focusing on inclusive education in schools and classrooms, advocating the need for child and family centred approaches to therapy and improving every child’s quality of life.

In my spare time I enjoy watching sports (rugby, cricket and F1), travelling, trying out new restaurants and I love to spend time at the beach! If you had to call my best friend and ask him/her to describe me, I think they’d describe me as tenacious, creative and talkative.
