Dimitra Evangelidis

OT

Hi there! My name is Dimitra.

I studied Occupational Therapy at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, and qualified in 2018. I am currently completing my Master’s degree in paediatric OT through the same university and aim to complete this by the end of 2023. I have additionally completed a 100-hour yoga therapy course in 2020, that merges the principles of yoga with OT to bring a holistic approach to treatment.

I have worked in various special needs and mainstream schools over the past 5 years and have supported children with diverse diagnoses and from different walks of life. I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience in Sensory Processing Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delays, as well as Learning Difficulties. I am passionate about bringing a holistic approach to OT within schools and ensuring that all people in the child’s life are able to benefit from the OT process. I enjoy including the school, teachers, and other professionals in the child’s journey and upskilling all those involved. Bringing about a team approach to helping a child is something that I love to do and try and aim to complete with every child and family that I have the privilege to work with.

I love spending time with my family, dogs and friends, and I am always up for an adventure. I love anything that has to do with food, whether it be spending hours in the kitchen, trying new restaurants, or going to new food markets. I love reading books and watching movies but equally love busy weekends spent exploring the UK and Europe. I am a sporty person who enjoys staying active and challenging my body in various ways. My friends would describe my as bubbly, loyal, fun, and loving.Â
