Hello, my name is Erick.
I am an Occupational Therapist hailing from Kenya. I graduated successfully with a Diploma in Occupational Therapy from the Kenya Medical Training College in 2020. Prior to joining Words First in August 2022, I worked in private practice in Nairobi as a home-based and school-based therapist. I am currently a level 4a Occupational Therapist working within Specialist ASD and SEMH school provisions. I enjoy being part of the Words First team as it has great values that support me personally and professionally.
My approach to Occupational Therapy intervention is firmly rooted in client-centred and evidence-based principles together with tailoring interventions to the unique needs of each individual. I strive to empower students in educational settings, aiding them in improving their fine and gross motor skills, activities of daily living, sensory needs, emotional regulation and harnessing their full potential in their academics.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I really enjoy watching football and engaging in conversations with friends during my leisure time. If you were to ask my friends about me, they would describe me as self-motivated and driven by my passions.
