Kaylin Edmonstone
Pre-reg
Hello my name is Kaylin
I graduated from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, in South Africa with a BSc (Hons) in Speech and Language Therapy in 2021. I completed my year of community service at a tertiary-level hospital in Soweto, Gauteng in 2022, where I had the opportunity to work with a variety of people. It allowed me to grow both clinically and personally as I learned more about myself and the people I work with.
I have a keen interest in developing children’s speech, language, and literacy to help them with learning in the classroom and I have a deep love for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. I am passionate about helping children communicate in a way that allows them to be fully integrated into their families, schools, and greater communities. My HCPC registration is underway so I will be operating as a pre-registered therapist under the guidance of my Clinical Supervisor until such time as it has been granted.
In my spare time, you will find me either on the couch watching series/reading a book or outdoors exploring nature with my loved ones. A book that has had the biggest impact on my life is “Switch on your brain” by Dr. Caroline Leaf as it has taught me how I have full power to take control of my life and change it for the better.
