Larah Scurr

Pre-Reg SALT

Hello my name is Larah

I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2002 at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. In 2002, I was placed at Vryheid District Hospital, Zululand a rural area of South Africa. I was responsible for Speech Therapy for the district which included providing assessments, intervention, training and running of groups/clinics for a wide caseload including paediatric and geriatric who had a variety of difficulties with speech, language, and communication.

My interest in speech therapy lies with the school-age population and their speech, language and social difficulties impacting their academic success and social environments.

Iā€™m passionate about working with schools, families and children in a holistic approach in order to provide the best possible intervention that will benefit children in every environment they find themselves in.

I am easy going and I like to spend my spare time outdoors or adventuring around London. If you had to call my best friend and ask him to describe me, I think they’d describe me as passionate, loyal and ambitious.
