Sara Allouche Amar Setti

SaLT | MAT LEAVE

Hello my name is Sara

I graduated from SOAS in Linguistics and Arabic in 2013 and then went on to study at City University of London for my Postgraduate studies in Speech and Language Therapy which I completed in 2017. I have previously worked in a rehabilitation unit in a hospital with adults with Communication Needs following stroke and traumatic brain injuries. I also have experience working in a specialist school for Autism with Secondary School aged pupils.

I have always been interested in working with older children and adults with Speech and Language Difficulties and really enjoyed my community placements with adults, getting to know the communication needs in real life for this population as opposed to only seeing them in clinic. I also have had a diverse client base and so have had experience working with children and adults from all walks of life and find this an enjoyable aspect of my job. I also have a personal interest in learning languages and bilingualism that I would like to explore further in my role as a SaLT.

Since Iā€™ve started with WF,Ā  I have always loved the family feel to the team and how, regardless of who joins, everyone gets on. Weā€™ve grown a lot in the last few years but this aspect of WF has still remained. We really are a friendly bunch!

When Iā€™m not being a SaLT, I am running around my 17 month old and discovering the world with him post-Covid! I love strength training as well and workout regularly when I can as well as going on random walks anywhere that ramp up my steps for the day.Ā  I am an avid and keen traveller and love getting away during the school holidays to see the world.

If you had to ask my friends to describe me, I think they’d describe me as bubbly, animated and funny.
