Callia Nicolaides

Hello! My name is Callia.

I studied at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa and graduated in 2020. Since graduating, I completed my community service year at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, where I worked with a diverse group of paediatric patients both with dysphagia and communication difficulties. My passion in speech therapy lies in working with paediatrics, mainly early intervention and providing learners with the additional support required within an educational setting.

I am excited to be working for Words First because I feel that the company always puts the needs of the children above everything else. They focus on working within the team to bring about the best type of intervention for each of their learners. I will be working in both primary and secondary schools, assisting learners with their speech, language and literacy difficulties.

In my spare time, you’ll find me spending time with friends and family, shopping or sightseeing. If you had to call my best friend and ask her to describe me, I think she’d describe me as approachable, caring and loving.
