Hello, my name is June.

I studied MSc Speech and Language Therapy at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, and graduated and qualified as a speech and language therapist in 2018. Before that, I earned a bachelor’s degree in English Language from Newcastle University. Being born and raised in Hong Kong, I am a multilingual who also speaks Cantonese and Mandarin. Prior to joining Words First, I worked as a Support Worker supporting Autistic adults in the community, and as an English tutor in Hong Kong. I joined Words First in December 2018 and have a keen interest working with children and young people with Autism, social communication difficulties and social emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Apart from supporting students in a school setting, I also supervise and support other therapists, and develop the clinical pathway of SEMH within Words First. I am also a Youth Mental Health First Aid (MHFA®).

I love the Words First family and the amazing support network we have here – from clinical to peer supervision. I started off as a newly-qualified therapist in Words First and would not have grown so much without the support and guidance from the fantastic team here! I also enjoy the flexibility in what I do and the variety of clients I get to work with.

Outside work, you will find me upside down in a pole fitness studio a couple of evenings a week. I also enjoy the theatre, opera and travelling, a lot! If you had to call my best friend and ask her to describe me, I think she would probably say bubbly, constantly on the go and creative!
