Marie Blomerus

OT

Hello my name is Marié.

I studied Occupational Therapy at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa
Qualified in 2018. I have two years experience working as an Paediatric Occupational Therapist at a mainstream Independent School. During this time, I gained a lot of experience working with Sensory Processing difficulties, Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum disorder as well as Learning difficulties.

I have a special interest in the field of sensory integration and learning difficulties.
I love children, their spontaneity and their honesty. I believe education can open doors for children in a challenging world. My passion is to help children with difficulties and challenges and give them the tools and opportunities to live a purposeful life. I enjoy working towards a common goal as part of a team consisting of family, therapists and caregivers.

I am a friendly, considerate, calm and loving person. I enjoy reading, cooking, spending time in nature and getting to know different cultures and traveling in my free time.

A book that has had the biggest impact on my life is Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis. I love this book because it taught me that small gestures of kindness and big sacrifices driven by love, can have a huge influence on people’s lives.
