Hello, my name is Casey.
I completed my studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), South Africa, in 2015. My experience as a Speech and Language Therapist includes working within a multi-disciplinary team at a district hospital, and for a non-profit organisation to develop and deliver a curriculum to disadvantaged children and communities.
My specialism is Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and associated social communication needs, which has fuelled my enthusiasm for advocation and raising awareness about how these needs affect speech, language and communication.
At Words First, I’ve held various roles, from Supervisor and Clinical Lead to my current position as Team Lead. I also support visa applications for international therapists joining our diverse team.
What I love about working at Words First is the daily interaction with diverse people, innovative approaches to intervention, and the unwavering support from my colleagues.
Outside of work, I enjoy perfumery, art, and spending time in nature. My husband and siblings would describe me as meticulous, creative, and theatrical.
